About the Program

More Than Weekly Bowling

Youth bowling gives children and teens a place to develop skills, confidence, friendships, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Depending on their age, division, results, and interests, YBC bowlers may also have opportunities to participate in special events, tournaments, provincial competitions, national championships, awards, and scholarship programs.

The 8 Weeks for $80 program gives a brand-new bowler the opportunity to experience the league, meet other bowlers, and decide whether YBC is right for them.

No previous bowling experience is required.

Eligibility

Who Can Register?

This introductory program is for youth who meet all of the following criteria.

This program is for youth who:

  • Are between the ages of 4 and 19
  • Have never previously participated in an organized bowling league
  • Are available for the first eight scheduled Monday league nights in their division
  • Would like to experience youth league bowling before deciding whether to continue

This offer is not available to:

  • Returning PoCo Bowl YBC bowlers
  • Bowlers who have previously participated in YBC at another bowling centre
  • Youth who have participated in another organized bowling league
Recreational bowling, birthday parties, school bowling, open bowling, and Kids Bowl Free participation do not disqualify a bowler.
PoCo Bowl will review each registration and confirm eligibility before sending the $80 Square invoice.

What Does the $80 Include?

The YBC 8 Weeks for $80 introductory program includes:

  • The first eight scheduled league nights in the bowler's assigned division
  • One official PoCo Bowl YBC shirt
  • Age-appropriate league play
  • Coaching and encouragement during league nights
  • The opportunity to meet and bowl with other youth
  • The option to continue for the rest of the 2026–2027 season
  • No requirement to continue after the introductory program
The $80 introductory fee is one payment. It is not billed weekly.
The bowler's place is not confirmed until PoCo Bowl has reviewed the registration, confirmed available space, and received the $80 payment.

All PoCo Bowl YBC divisions bowl on Monday evenings. A bowler's expected division is based on their age as of December 31, 2026. PoCo Bowl will confirm the final division based on the bowler's date of birth, experience, program requirements, and available space.

How Registration Works

Complete the Registration Form

Submit one 8 Weeks for $80 registration form for each new bowler.

PoCo Bowl Reviews the Registration

PoCo Bowl will review the bowler's age, eligibility, expected division, shirt selection, placement requests, and available space.

Receive the $80 Square Invoice

Once eligibility and space have been confirmed, PoCo Bowl will email a Square invoice for the $80 introductory program.

Complete Payment

The bowler's place is confirmed once the $80 Square invoice has been paid.

Submitting the form alone does not guarantee or confirm a place.
After the Program

What Happens After Week 8?

Families can decide what is right for their bowler after the introductory program.

Finish After Eight Weeks

There is no requirement to continue. A bowler who finishes after the first eight scheduled league nights will not owe any additional league fees.

The official YBC shirt remains theirs.

Continue for the Rest of the Season

A bowler who would like to continue can remain in their assigned division for the rest of the 2026–2027 season. Continuing bowlers:

  • Do not pay the additional $75 annual YBC registration fee
  • Pay only the regular league fees for the scheduled weeks remaining in their division
  • Continue wearing the official shirt received through the introductory program

PoCo Bowl will contact each family before the introductory program ends to confirm whether the bowler would like to continue.
